Supporting the Black Country Food Bank

Homescapes have been supporting the Black Country Food Bank with a committed monthly financial donation since early 2019. As a family-run business, it has always been a part of our mission to support local charities and those in need whenever we can.

Given the precarious state of the economy, food banks have come under tremendous pressure. This is the most basic of human needs and we believe that every company that can, must come forward and support such organisations in their local areas. We hope that we can inspire other businesses to appreciate that Food Banks nationwide are struggling to cope with the increased pressure.

Homescapes have long been a regular supporter of national charities, including the Red Cross and Macmillan. We have also committed a share of our profits in aid of natural disasters, like the devastating 2015 earth quake that struck Nepal.

The team at Homescapes have always been proactive and eager to contribute by holding events like the Macmillan Coffee Morning. Last Christmas, we all got together to participate in Save the Children, with each staff member donating money to wear a festive Christmas jumper to work.

As well as national charities, we have always been a supporter of charities a little closer to home. Based in Dudley in the West Midlands, Homescapes have supported many local charities in the Black Country area. In March last year, we supported Russells Hall hospital with their Big Push campaign. In desperate need of new wheelchairs, the Big Push campaign sought help to pay for new, much needed wheelchairs. We’ve also donated items to a local school to help raise money in their Summer fete raffle, as well as sponsoring local Scout Groups, Smethwick Old Church and 1st Warley Woods.

Homescapes & The Black Country Food Bank

Back in April 2017, the marketing team decided to give up eating chocolate in a bid to raise funds to pay for non-perishable foods and toiletries to donate to the Black Country Food Bank. This effort resulted in raising a substantial contribution for the Food Bank. We were really proud of our donation and we couldn’t be happier to announce that we are supporting this wonderful charity again this year. This time, however, we are supporting the charity through monthly financial donations.

Whilst donations of non-perishables are always needed, regular financial donations allow the food bank to plan and budget for the future, allowing them to be more prepared for times when food donations are low.

How Do They Help?

The Black Country Food Bank is there to help vulnerable people and families during times of need in the Black Country area. They offer three days of emergency food supplies whilst a long-term solution is found. This gives those in crisis some much needed breathing space and time.

Whilst the charity always welcomes the donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries, regular financial support allows them to be prepared for times when food donations are low.

How Can I Help?

Homescapes is asking other local businesses to join them in offering regular financial support to this crucial charity.

However, you can always help by simply donating any non-perishable food items and toiletries that you might not use. Or, add a small amount to your weekly food shop to drop off when you can to your Local Food Bank.
