Get Your Home Ready for the Year

There’s no need to wait until April for a Spring clean, now is the perfect time to get your home ready for the year ahead. Read our 5 simple tips and tricks that you can do around your home to help you feel more organised and ready to tackle 2019.

1. Clean Your Bedding

If you can’t remember the last time you gave your duvet, pillows and mattress toppers a wash than now is probably a good time to do it. All of our duvets can be washed, with most of them being machine washable. This is a super easy way to make sure your bed is completely free of any lingering bugs and illnesses from before Christmas.

It’s also super important to wash your pillows and mattress topper or protector regularly as these can harbour bacteria. Even with frequent washing of pillowcases and fitted sheets, washing your pillows and mattress toppers will ensure your sleep environment is hygienic and clean. Plus, washing everything on your bed will make it even more inviting when you go to sleep!

2. Refresh Your Towels

If your towels are starting to feel a little on the threadbare side, replacing them will make your morning or evening routine feel a bit more luxurious. Even if your towels are still in good shape, a new colour in your bathroom can make it feel updated for the new year.

Go for something bright light like teal blue or grape towels to make a statement in your bathroom. Or update your guest towels if you plan on having friends and family stay this year.

3. Update Your Interior Style

Make your home feel new again with a mini make-over. This doesn’t have to involve painting the walls or re-carpeting. Refresh the smaller things in your rooms like picture frames, wall art and accessories. You could even add a new rug to inject colour and texture or invest in new curtains. This will completely transform a room without breaking the bank.

Update your cushion covers and add a new throw to your sofa or bed for a new look. Some colours that will be big this year are earthy tones like olive green and mustard yellow with neutral greys. Click here for tips on how to arrange scatter cushions.

4. Add Colour to Your Dining Table

Keep your dining table clean and tidy with a tablecloth. One of the easiest ways to cover up an old table that needs replacing, or prevent a new one from getting damaged is by using a tablecloth. Back in style for 2019, plain cotton tablecloths can be easily dressed for hosting family meals, and leave the dining room looking organised and tidy.

We love the four new colours added to our range of plain cotton tablecloths. Perfect for 2019, choose from Dark Olive Green, Mustard Yellow, Airforce Blue or Burnt Orange.
